​​​​​Dr. Casey Lester is a dedicated psychiatrist with a unique background that enriches the approach to mental health treatment. Raised in Northern California and having spent significant time working as a veterinary technician, Dr. Lester brings a unique perspective on healing and resilience to the practice.

​Before embarking on a medical career, Dr. Lester lived in South Korea, teaching children and adolescents. This experience laid the foundation for a focus on youth mental health. Dr. Lester completed undergraduate studies in neurobiology, physiology, and behavior at the University of California, Davis, followed by medical training at the University of California, San Diego. Further specialization in child and adolescent psychiatry was pursued through a residency at the University of California, Riverside, and a fellowship at Stanford.

During a brief tenure as a veterinary technician, Dr. Lester gained firsthand insights into the unique mental health challenges faced by veterinary professionals. Studies show that veterinarians are up to 2.4 times more likely to attempt suicide than the general public. Committed to supporting this high-risk group, Dr. Lester offers specialized care aimed at addressing their specific mental health needs.

Central to Dr. Lester's practice is the belief in the human-animal connection as a therapeutic force. Elmo, a specially-trained therapy dog, is an integral part of the practice, offering a comforting presence that helps create a safe and welcoming space for patients.
 

In leisure time, Dr. Lester enjoys a variety of dog-centric outdoor activities with his partner and dog.
